About the Author

Rachel Brito was born in 1986 in the town of Downers Grove, Illinois. Her current hometown is in Elmhurst, Illinois. In her Elmhurst home, she lives with her mom, Janet and brother, Ray, although her brother recently moved out to obtain a broadcasting job in Laredo, Texas. She also has two sisters who both live in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Rachel is a senior at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and plans to graduate in May 2008. She is double majoring in English and Rhetoric. She currently lives in an apartment with two close friends. Among creating a Copyright Law Newsletter, she has written many fiction and non-fiction stories on her own and in the classes she took at the university. Her most recent fiction story is titled Inkophobia, which is about a girl who has a fear of ink and her struggles throughout her life. Rachel’s most recent non-fiction story is titled Daddy’s Little Girl. It is about her father’s background, her relationship with her father, how they both dealt with his cancer, and her struggles with his death.

In her spare time, she likes to read, write, sing, and spend as much time with family and friends as possible. She also enjoys playing tennis and the flute.
